During Your Stay

The day of your surgery.

On the day of your surgery, you should bring your insurance card, photo identification, and any co-payment required by your insurance. You will also want to bring any items with you that you will require when you wake up after surgery.

Here are some items you should consider:

  • Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and a supportive pair of shoes.
  • A pair of glasses and a case. You are not permitted to wear contacts during surgery.
  • Your hearing aid and a case.
  • Mobility equipment, such as a front-wheeled walker.
  • If you wear make-up or nail polish, you should not have either during surgery.
  • Leave jewelry at home. You are not permitted to wear it during surgery.

When you arrive on the day of your surgery, please enter through the front door of the building and go to the left. The surgery center door is indicated with a sign above the doorway. You will check in at the reception desk, and our team will verify that your information is correct.

After you check in, the pre-op nursing team will bring you to the pre-op area. Two family members or caregivers will be allowed to join you before your surgery. There is a waiting area in the lobby that family members may use during your procedure.
